Your next pronouns are going to be:
šis (this, male)
ši (this, female)
šie (these, male)
šios (these, female)
Notice the similarity of these pronouns to jis, ji, jie, jos:
Nominative case: Nominative case: |
šis šie |
ši šios |
jis jie |
ji jos |
To learn them, all you have to do is to replace j with š or ši (jis > šis; jį > šį; jam > šiam; etc).
As in English, you use these pronouns with nouns:
Šis vyras eina. This man is walking.
Ši mergaitė ima televizorių. This girl takes the TV.
Pronouns must have the same case as their nouns!
Šie vyrai ima šį televizorių. These men take this TV.
Kodėl šios mergaitės perka šiems vyrams šį televizorių? Why do these girls buy to these men this TV?
Duok joms šiuos tušinukus! Give them these pens!
Kodėl šioms mergaitėms reikia šios mokytojos? Why do these girls need this teacher?
Jo pieštukas yra ant šios knygos. His pencil is on this book.
