Another popular suffix to make a profession word is -ikas. It is used with the past form of the verb:
bėgti (to run); bėga (it runs); bėgo (it ran) - o + ikas = bėgikas (runner) (female: bėgikė)

Bėgikas iš Pietų Afrikos yra žudikas. The runner from South Africa is a murderer.
Ėjikai užsiima ėjimo sportu, o plaukikai - plaukimo. Racewalkers are occupied with the sport of racewalking, and swimmers - with swimming.
