Usually Lithuanian verbs belong to one of the three types, but there are verbs that have the endings of the first type in the present tense, but in the past tense they look like the third type. Here are some examples of this occasion:

duoti, duoda, davė (to give)
imti, ima, ėmė (to take)
laukti, laukia, laukė (to wait)
nekęsti, nekenčia, nekentė (to hate)
liepti, liepia, liepė (to command; to order)
etc

These verbs have endings of different types:

aš duodu
tu duodi
jis, ji, jie, jos duoda
mes duodame
jūs duodate

aš daviau
tu davei
jis, ji, jie, jos davė
mes davėme
jūs davėte

A rarer occasion is when a verb looks like a 3rd type verb in the present, but in the past it's like a 1st or 2nd type verb:

ieškoti, ieško, ieškojo (to look for)

aš ieškau
tu ieškai
jis, ji, jie, jos ieško
mes ieškome
jūs ieškote

aš ieškojau
tu ieškojai
jis, ji, jie, jos ieškojo
mes ieškojome
jūs ieškojote
