As you know, all Lithuanian verbs are divided into three types (not to be confused with the three forms of verbs):

The First Type

pirkti, perka, pirko (to buy)
eiti, eina, ėjo (to go; to walk)
kalbėti, kalba, kalbėjo (to speak)
gyventi, gyvena, gyveno (to live)
gauti, gauna, gavo (to get)
reikėti, reikia, reikėjo (to be needed)
patikti, patinka, patiko (to appeal)
skambinti, skambina, skambino (to ring; to call)
leisti, leidžia, leido (to allow; to spend)
tampti, tampa, tapo (to become)
etc

The Second Type

(its three principle forms listed)

mylėti, myli, mylėjo (to love)
galėti, gali, galėjo (to can)
girdėti, girdi, girdėjo (to hear)
žiūrėti, žiūri, žiūrėjo (to look; to watch)
tikėti, tiki, tikėjo (to believe)
turėti, turi, turėjo (to have)
sėdėti, sėdi, sėdėjo (to sit)
stovėti, stovi, stovėjo (to stand)
gulėti, guli, gulėjo (to lay)
laimėti, laimi, laimėjo (to win)
etc

The Third Type

prašyti, prašo, prašė (to ask)
rašyti, rašo, rašė (to write)
skaityti, skaito, skaitė (to read)
sakyti, sako, sakė (to say)
klausyti, klauso, klausė (to listen)
manyti, mano, manė (to think)
daryti, daro, darė (to do; to make)
laikyti, laiko, laikė (to hold)
mąstyti, mąsto, mąstė (to reason)
matyti, mato, matė (to see)
etc

Some of these verbs are unfamilliar to you. Learn them!

Ėjau namo ir kalbėjau su draugu. I was going home and I was talking with a friend.
Aš gavau gyventi negražioje vietoje. I got to live in an unpretty place.
Man ten labai patiko, bet reikėjo eiti namo. It appealed to me there, but I needed to go home.
Prašau leiskite man paskambinti broliui! Please allow me to call my brother!

Aš ją mylėjau, bet ji tuo netikėjo. I loved her, but she didn't believe it.
Kodėl tu negalėjai ten sėdėti? Why couldn't you sit there?
Kodėl tu negalėjai ten pasėdėti? Why couldn't you sit there a little?

Mes skaitėme, kad Hitleris darė blogus dalykus. We were reading that Hitler was doing bad things.
Atsiprašau, apie ką jūs mąstote? I'm sorry, what are you thinking about?
Gerai, kad pamatei jį! It's good that you saw him!
Gerai, kad matei tą filmą. It's good that you have seen that film.
