Lithuanian has four tenses. At the moment you only know one of them - the present tense. Let's look at the past tense.
You also remember that there are three types of verbs depending on the ending:
1) jis perka (he buys) - pirkti
2) jis turi (he has) - turėti
3) jis sako (he says) - sakyti
As you see in the following table, they have different endings in the past tense too:

Pirmadienį dainininkas pirko televizorių, o dabar perka kompiuterį. On Monday the singer bought a TV, and now he is buying a computer.
Atsiprašau, kad sakiau tau eiti namo. I am sorry that I was telling you to go home.
Turėjai du pieštukus, bet dabar jau turi keturis. You had two pencils, but now you already have four.
