The most important thing when learning Lithuanian is to pay serious attention to the endings. It's all in the endings!

Looking at any Lithuanian text, you probably notice a lot of words ending in as. These are masculine nouns. Other masculine endings include is, ys and us, but we'll look at as first.

Let vyras be your first Lithuanian noun. It means a man (a male). When looking at words, you should look at endings as something separate from the whole word. For example, vyr is the stem and as is the ending.

parkas (a park): park is the stem, as is the ending
