Look at this first type verb:

klausti - to ask
jis, ji, jie, jos klausia

This verb is similar to a third type verb that you already know:

klausyti - to listen
jis, ji, jie, jos klauso

Do not mix them up!

Both klausti and klausyti require the genitive case:

Jis klausia mokytojo. He is asking the teacher.
Jis klauso mokytojo. He listens to the teacher.
