Personal Pronouns

There aren't many personal pronouns out there, so they're best shown on a table.

Jūs is plural for 'you'. It is used in the singular only when you are speaking to someone whom you do not know well. It is polite to use jūs when addressing a person in a position of authority, teachers, elders, etc. Whereas tu is used among friends, family and when addressing a child.

Mokytojau, jums skambina. Teacher, you have a call. (formal)
Pauliau, tau skambina. Paulius, you have a call. (informal)

Examples with :

einu namo. I'm going home.
Namuose manęs laukia šeima. At home the family is waiting for me.
Jis man davė eurą. He gave me a euro.
Vakar gatvėje mane užpuolė. Yesterday at the street I was attacked (someone attacked me).
Niekas su manimi nedraugauja. No one goes out with me.
Manyje yra 60 procentų vandens. There are 60 percent of water in me.

Impersonal Pronouns

Unlike personal pronouns, there are quite a lot of impersonal pronouns in Lithuanian. Some may almost seem like synonyms (toks and šitoks; tas and šitas).

These are the main impersonal pronouns, with which you can start learning:

tas, ta - that
toks, tokia - so; such; suchlike
kuris, kuri - which, who
pats, pati - own; self

šitoks, šitokia - so; such; suchlike (declined as toks, tokia)
šis, ši - this (declined as kuris, kuri)
kas - what, who (declined as tas; only masculine singular)
keli, kelios and keleri, kelerios - how many; several; few (declined as numbers 4-9)
kelintas, kelinta - 'which one out of some' (declined as first declension adjectives)
koks, kokia - what (declined as toks, tokia)
manas, mana; tavas, tava; savas, sava - are most likely to be changed by possesive pronouns (declined as first declension adjectives).
joks, jokia - none; any; whatsoever (declined as toks, tokia)
kitoks, kitokia - different; otherwise (declined as toks, tokia)
kiekvienas, kiekviena - every (declined as first declension adjectives)
kitas, kita - other (declined as first declension adjectives)
visas, visa - whole (declined as first declension adjectives)
niekas - nothing (declined as first declension adjectives)
viskas - everything, all (declined as first declension adjectives)

Possesive Pronouns

mano my Jis yra mano draugas. He is my friend.
tavo your Ji yra tavo draugė. She is your friend.
jo his Jo tėvas ateina. His father comes.
jos her Visi jos žaislai yra žali. All her toys are green.
mūsų our Visi mūsų žaislai yra raudoni. All our toys are red.
jūsų your Jūsų eilė spėti mįslę. It's your turn to guess the riddle.
their Mums reikia išminties. We need their wisdom.
