Pronominal Adjectives (įvardžiuotiniai būdvardžiai) Adjectives of the first and second declension can be made into the pronominal. Pronominal adjectives have a longer ending. Pronominal means that the adjective is 'special', previously mentioned, as though 'the one'. I need a better explanation for this... Pronominal adjectives formed out of the first declension:
Examples: baltasis, baltoji (the white one); žaliasis, žalioji (the green one); raudonasis, raudonoji (the red one); sausasis, sausoji (the dry one). Pronominal adjectives formed out of the second declension:
Examples: gilusis, gilioji (the deep one); paklusnusis, paklusnioji (the obedient one); gražusis, gražioji (the pretty one); brangusis, brangioji (the expensive one). Having seen what the pronominal adjective is, you may want to know what is the neuter gender or you may wish to go to the beginning. |
